When political anthroponyms shape verbs: neologisms in -iser/-izovat/-(iz)owaæ in French, Czech, and Polish


This article examines neological verb formation derived from political proper names in French, Czech, and Polish. Using the productive suffixes -iser (Fr.), -izovat (Cz.), and -(iz)owaæ (Pl.), it explores how anthroponyms evolve into verbs carrying ideological, stereotypical, or critical meanings. Based on media and lexical corpora, the study analyzes morphological patterns, semantic specificities, and discursive usage. Special focus is given to the expressive value, contextual anchoring, and critical function of these verbs in political discourse. Through a comparative approach, the article highlights derivational mechanisms, pragmatic roles, and cross-linguistic contrasts in the productivity and interpretation of these innovative verbs.
