Relations within the conceptual fields of Czech and French law and their formalisation by lexical functions
This paper presents relationships that exist among legal concepts within a selected domain. The domain is based on corpora created for the purpose of this study. All the described relationships are those of sense, but they are of different nature. We distinguish three groups: semantic relationships, relationships based on legal text and semantic roles. After delimiting key notions, such as “concept” and “term”, this study briefly describes each group of relationships and offers examples and analyses related to the presented data. We attempt to find a uniform way to formalize the relationships by using lexical functions developed by Igor Mel’èuk. At the end of the study, we propose a database based on the results of our research.
