L’expression de la perception dans le Lexicon de Buda (1825)French

The expression of perception in the Buda Lexicon (1825)

Maria ALDEA

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):11-28 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.002

In our paper, we analyze the manner of expressing perception in an old Romanian dictionary published at the Typography of Buda in 1825, a lexicographical masterpiece created by the members of the Transylvanian School. Based on this dictionary, we would like to compile an inventory of the words of perception such as they are preserved, while highlighting the normative aspects with regard to the current standards, their semantic development and their lexicographical treatment.

Feel et feeling : tel verbe, tels noms ?French

Feel and feeling: like verb, like nouns?

Stéphanie BÉLIGON

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):29-45 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.003

This paper deals with the substantives feel and feeling in contemporary English. Feel refers to the properties of the objects of perception, it is therefore connected with sensory perceptions ("I like the feel of old leather") and with the perception of an atmosphere ("Although the table is brand-new, it has the look and feel of an antique", "It's a big city but it has the feel of a small town"). Feeling, on the other hand, denotes sensations and emotions ("a feeling of hunger/excitement/sadness"; "guilty feelings") or the ability to have physical sensations ("He had no feeling in his right leg"). It can also be synonymous...

La classe grammaticale a-t-elle une influence dans l’apparition des disfluences perçues comme sévères ? Une étude sur le français et le slovaqueFrench

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):47-60 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.004

This paper deals with morpho-syntactic characteristics of stuttering-like disfluencies. More specifically, the aim of this research was to observe the linguistic features of sequences where a prolongation, a block or a repetition is present and to verify if the results are similar in two languages. To carry out this research, 20 persons who stutter (10 Slovak-speaking and 10 French-speaking) were recorded. Recordings were transcribed in Phon and TreeTagger was used to obtain grammatical classification of the disfluent elements. Our results show several differences between the two groups.

« Dis-moi Orléans ». Repérage et analyse de la perception d’un lieu dans l’oral transcritFrench

"Dis-moi Orléans". Locating and analyzing the perception of a place in transcribed speech

Iris ESHKOL-TARAVELLA, Hélène FLAMEIN

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):61-71 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.005

The work is based on the methodologies of corpus linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The study concerns places, their perception and the expression of the latter by the different speakers in the ESLO2 corpus (Enquête sociolinguistique à Orléans - Sociolinguistic Investigation in Orléans). Place names are automatically detected thanks to a Named Entities Recognition tool. The manual correction that follows takes into consideration the variations in their denomination and the context of their use. The annotated places are studied quantitatively and qualitatively. The results enable us to make the first typology of the different...

Ancrage perceptif et invariant dans les langues des signes (LS), langues de sourdsFrench

Perceptual anchoring and invariance in sign languages (LS), languages of the deaf

Brigitte GARCIA, Emmanuella MARTINOD

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):73-88 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.006

Sign languages (SLs), the visual-gestural languages used by deaf people throughout the world, display a higher degree of similarities than the one existing among spoken languages (oral-aural languages). The paper explores the hypothesis according to which this substantial invariant would be linked to the common rooting of SLs in a figurative depiction (iconicization) of human perceptive-practical experience. This issue is addressed through the study of a specific aspect: the comparison of the so-called morphemic handshapes throughout a panel of SLs. The study highlights the existence of a cross-SLs core of morphemic handshapes and shows that they can...

Morfetik, un dictionnaire morphologique : illustration avec le lexique de la perceptionFrench

Morfetik, a morphological dictionary: illustration with the lexicon of perception

Aude GREZKA

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):89-99 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.007

Presently, numerous works concern the reflection and the conception of appropriate methodologies for automatic language processing. Their objectives are to create a linguistic automatable resource which will be used on IT applications (assistant to writing, to translation, etc.). In this article, we present the morphological resource Morfetik, a morphological dictionary of the simple words of French. At first, we return to the difference between a computer dictionary and computerized dictionary. Secondly, we approach the structuring of Morfetik by illustrating it with the lexicon of the perception.

Perception et traque de « l’accent étranger » : la production des voyelles orales en FLE par des polonophonesFrench

Perception of the "foreign accent": the production of oral vowels in Polish speakers who learn French as a foreign language

Dominique HAMM, Magdalena DAÑKO

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):101-122 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.008

Our research fits in the overall framework of French as a Foreign Language oral teaching methods and focuses of non-native speech perception and production. We will deal with the phenomenon of "foreign accent", those marks that reveal in transparency the presence of the phonological sieve of the mother tongue, and we will focus on the pronunciation of oral vowels in French by Polish-speaking learners. A preliminary study, descriptive and contrastive, of the phonological systems of Polish and French will allow us to make assumptions about perceptible interferences in the pronunciation of spoken French which might be at the origin of noise in the psycholinguistic...

Voir et see : Étude comparée de la construction à attribut de l’objetFrench

Voir et see : comparative study of object attribute construction

Christelle LACASSAIN-LAGOIN

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):123-146 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.009

This paper sets out to compare the meaning and uses of the visual perception of the verbs see in English, and voir in French, in object-oriented predicative complement constructions. It is aimed at identifying how such sentences function both syntactically and semantically and how the verb and the complements interact, trying in particular to determine the structure of so-called object-oriented complement structures. This qualitative, corpus-based study focuses on three categories of complements - adjective phrases, preposition phrases and noun phrases. It shows that the two verbs license complements that are syntactically similar. The...

Pour une analyse énonciative et textuelle des points de vue perceptifs empathiques (hétéro-perception et prise en charge énonciative)French

An enunciative and textual analysis of empathic perceptual points of view (hetero-perception and enunciative empowerment)

Alain RABATEL

Écho des études romanes 2017, 13(1):147-172 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2017.010

The paper examines verbs of perception (VP), such as to see or to watch, in perception reports (PR) - their maximal extent includes the sentence containing the VP and the subsequent sentences reunited by semantic connections of part-whole associations in which perception gains intentional values and tends towards action. The paper first describes the notion of point of view in natural language (1) and linguistics, as well as the pragmatic and enunciative framework of the analysis of perceptions (2). Furthermore, it highlights several fundamental semantic and syntactic characteristics of PR coreferential to secondary enunciators - that are different...
